The Inselbergs trip, 16 february - 5 march 2007
The inselbergs lie at the heart of the Minkebe area in Gabon. They are enormous rocks that stick out above the jungle like islands, sometimes as high as a few 100 metres above the vegetation. The name has been given by adventurers, who came from the north from the former German colony Cameroon.

The goal of this trip was to sail in 2 days time and to walk in 3 days time to one of the smaller inselbergs. We succeeded in that. From there you have a wonderful view over the forest and the other inselbergs.
Our route, including photo- and video-material, can also be followed with Google Earth. The route- datafile itself can be downloaded here. It can be opened with Google Earth, which you can download here.
